The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) released its spring 2025 semiconductor market forecast this afternoon Beijing time. The organization predicts that the global semiconductor market size will reach USD 700.9 billion in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 11.2%.
From the perspective of market segments, the growth of the semiconductor market size this year will be led by the increases in the logic and memory sectors. Both of these two major markets are driven by the sustained demand in areas such as AI, cloud infrastructure, and advanced consumer electronics products, with year-on-year growth rates expected to reach double digits.
In addition, market segments such as sensors and analog will also make positive contributions to the overall market size expansion at a relatively moderate pace. On the other hand, discrete semiconductors, optoelectronics, and micro ICs will experience low single-digit percentage declines due to the suppression of demand in specific fields by the negative economic and trade environment.
